A referral is usually not needed to see a doctor of chiropractic (DC); however, your health plan may have specific referral requirements. You can contact your insurance company directly to find out if a referral is needed, or you can contact us and we will check your insurance benefits for you. Chiropractic is a profession with a wide variety of practice philosophies and techniques, which makes it a challenge to select the best chiropractor. One chiropractor might be the best for one person and not for another, as some people may respond better or worse to different chiropractic techniques. Finding a chiropractor with a good rapport in the community is a good step, because if many others have been happy with their results with that chiropractor, then there is a good chance you will be, too.
